Wolverine Vs. Freddy Krueger

Sure, there's the obvious similarities with the claws, but that's not the only reason I think this would be a cool match up.  Logan would have no qualms about going after a killer like Freddy, but how does he stop someone who is already dead?  Freddy could torment him in the dreamscape, but how far could he get when his subject can regenerate and has seen it all?  The grumpy dialogue alone would be worth the price of the comic.

  2. I must admit I never had a fondness for watching horror movies but I do find the villains to be quite interesting to read about. Would love to see Doctor Thirteen or the kids from Gen 13 meet Jason Voorhees (gotta love the name based matchups )

  3. How to stop somebody who's already dead? Presumably he asks either Shaman or Dr Strange (or Brother Voodoo?... or even Sister Voodoo?!) for advice...

  4. I think in a scenario like this, Wolverine would need help from Professor X who could probably take Freddy Kruger out, or maybe Magik. Any way you slice it, it would make a great comic to read.

  5. Wow, what a natural pair. Why the heck didn't I think of this one?

  6. You have a knack of generating a pairing that gives me what I call the "Wow Factor." It normally comes when there is a pairing that I had never thought of before. This is one such pairing.

  8. Cool idea, but I suspect Logan would prevail; two sets of claws to one, plus adamantium beats non-adamantium.

  9. Huh. I honestly never thought about pitting these two together, and yes the claw theme is an obvious choice, but so would the fact that both men are used to terrible suffering, both form physical and mental wounds.
Logan's got this in the bag though. I mean he's already been dragged to Hell before, not to mention all the things he's seen in his lifetime as both an X-Men and Avenger, plus he's died way too many times to count, so honestly, at this point, what could Freddie do to Logan that hasn't already been done to him already? Like Anonymous suggested, worst comes to worst, Logan gives ol' Charlie a mental ringy dingy, and game over for cancer face.

  10. Logan could always recruit help from Gabe Van Helsing. That guy can destroy _anything_ supernatural! ;-D

  11. Wolverine needs the Sandman to lock Freddy in one of his tubes.

  12. Personally I'd think when Wolverine met Freddie he'd have trouble stopping from laughing. "Who do you are you pathetic bag of dung to think you could scare me?" before cutting into so many pieces even Deadpool could resemble himself.

  13. P.S. The Spectre would be a better match for Freddie - the old Bronze era Michael Fleisher and Jim Aparo Spectre which used to really do a job on villains.

  14. Ohhh, Freddy Kruger vs Hellboy! Just had to say that one.

  15. @Glenn Host: Ooooh, Spectre VS. Freddie!? Shit, that would be a better match-up. Now that one I gotta' see, especially if Fleisher's writing it with an assist from Wes Craven, and Jim Aparo gets to draw it( Yes I know he's passed, sadly, but still)

I wonder what Spectre would do to him. I guess since he can search his mind/soul, he'll just do what's been done in other Freddie movies, and use fire against him, but in his own unique way.

  16. The fact that everyone keeps suggesting that Logan "would need help..." from so and so makes it plain that he would not survive alone against Freddy in the dreamscape. Freddy would drive him insane psychologically, unless his mutant healing factor would regain his sanity afterwards.

  17. Wolverine aided by the Phantom Stranger...definitely!

  18. How about Logan vs. the Predator?

  19. Ok so wolvie is best at what he does and what he does isn't very nice. Wolvie has survived neurotoxins and mind games from the best killed children when forced to the love of his life when forced to his healing factor has no equal can be overloaded but wolvie has survived decapitation incineration one cell survives and wolvies back. Wolvie went to hell conversed with the devil slapped him and around dared him to say anything other than thank you sir may I have another just so he could do it again. His abilities and training prevent or allow him to overcome any mind games even professor x has hard time with wolvues mind unless wolvie allows it jean grey as dark Phoenix couldn't stop wolvie entity level beings have perished because wolvie said so...Freddie runs scared from school girls relies on his opponents fear...wolvie has none. And seeks to disrupt them mentally and psychically...wolvie would tear Krueger a new one and Freddie would be begging wolvie to just forget about him
