I see that Red Tornado (or an alternate world version of him) will be showing up on the CW superhero show crossover "Crisis on Earth X" this week. Hopefully, they have tweaked his look a bit, he looked a little low rent on Supergirl. I'd love to see him get the big screen treatment after seeing how well The Vision has been realized in his cinematic appearances.
The Vision and red Tornado have crossed paths before in The Lost Issues - They investigated "who stole humanity?" back in Issue #1272 , merged programming Issue #971 and first met in an early MS Paint cover in Issue #44
Damn if that cover isn't an awesome piece of work man. Love the way you edited RT on the cover. Nooice.
ReplyDeleteGlad you like it, Dale!
ReplyDeletePoor Reddy! He's been blown apart like that rabbit-hunting robot from one of Bugs Bunny's post-WWII run-ins with Elmer Fudd.
ReplyDeleteThere's a hint that Reddy will be sharper-looking in the event: the promo poster shows him looking rather sleek. (He's near the top, a little to the right, in front of the top of the tallest skyscraper.)
ReplyDeleteThis may very well be the craziest idea I've ever proposed on this blog, but how about Little Orphan Annie and the Red Tornado. "The sun will come our, T.O. Morrow"
ReplyDeleteThat pun is absolutely horrible! ...meaning, of course, that I second the suggestion.
ReplyDeleteI third it.
ReplyDeleteI really miss Dick Dillin's art on Red Tornado. Many years ago I had opportunity to get a piece of original Dick Dillin art and I passed and regretted it. I thought he and Dick Giordano were perfect pair.
ReplyDeleteA lesser man would not be able to resist that straight line, Glenn.*
ReplyDeleteI, however, am not a lesser man.
*A perfect pair of guys named "Richard?" ;-)
