How long is it before we see a Justice League Detroit grouping on TV? Between Supergirl, The Flash and Arrow, all of the characters will have been introduced by the end of the current season - except for Aquaman who is busy breaking into the movies these days. In fact, I say Let the Atom take his place and replace Legends of Tomorrow with a JLDetroit show to call their own!
JLDetroit AND the original Guardians of the Galaxy? Not what I was expecting when I saw 'Guardians of the Galaxy and Justice League of America', but a very welcome surprise. And Aquaman two days in a row? Thank you! --- Robert Jackson
ReplyDeleteAnd why can't Aquaman double dip in movies and TV? The Flash is doing both, with different actors. Hopefully TV would give us the blonde Aquaman we deserve! - Robert again
ReplyDeleteAwesome. It has to happen now.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Robert. There are not only two Flashes with different actors, but two Supermen (Supermans?) as well. For that matter, Batman has two, and maybe soon three, concurrent iterations (counting Gotham and the recent mention of Bruce Wayne on Arrow as separste).
ReplyDeleteI don't think the dynamic would be in place for JLDetroit, though. TV's J'Onn is probably not ready to make the transition to Earth-1; nor, probably, Gypsy, though I'm less sure of that (she seems less enamored of Earth-19 every time I see her). On the other hand, some of the others could make for the core of a new Justice Society.
Ah yes, the Real Guardians of the Galaxy! JLADetroit, eh not so much.
ReplyDeleteJason Momoa may not be the Aquaman we deserve but he is the hero we need right now. ;-)

Detroit's Al Milgrom represented on a JLDetroit cover. Nice, it does this Detroiter's heart proud.
ReplyDeleteI have not watched Legends of Tomorrow season 2 yet but I know Steel is in it. Now the question is are they using the original Steel from All-Star Squadron or Justice League Detroit. If it is the original Steel then Aquaman is not the only charcter that has not been introduced. And I don't think Zatanna has shown up yet has she?
ReplyDeleteGypsy probably makes a good substitute for Wonder Woman, with her powers.
ReplyDeleteI can go Scott Cummins, one better. I haven't watched LoT; period! The Vandal Savage lead-in introduced on THE FLASH just wasn't inducement enough. And don't even get me started on that lackluster Dominion story arc!
ReplyDeleteSo, I can only agree with you on this much, Ross. CW should get rid of LoT, immediately and permanently! I don't care what they replace it with. I'd even take re-runs of the 1967 Filmation versions of the Teen Titans in preference!
The Silver Age GOTG after Jonn Jonzz? Why? Did he instigate an invasion of the Red Planet by the Nova Corps in order to liberate it from the pre-Killraven Molluscs?
ReplyDeleteGood questions, all, Anon #2.
ReplyDeleteP.S.---I agree with Anon #1.
ReplyDeleteThere seem to be a shortage of blonde actors (not actresses, they replace roles which originally were blondes) in movies.
ReplyDeleteNot entirely true, actually.
Delete@GH: that's probably because blond guys in movies all have the same three decade-old stereotype to contend with: narcissistic muscle-bound surfer dudes who only communicate in San Fernando Valley-speak.
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect idea. Though what if Jason M. decided he wanted to headline a new show? Though Ray Palmer is always welcome!
ReplyDeleteWhich is just another way of saying "Not entirely false!"
