Arrow now has a third Black Canary on the show, Dinah Drake. I like the new actress and that the character possesses a canary cry, unlike the previous versions. Just don't confuse her with the first Black Canary o n the program, who died, then got better and became the White Canary on DC's Legends of Tomorrow... or the second Black Canary, who took over for the first one (her sister) before she also died... or the Black Siren, who is also currently appearing on the show and looks identical to the second Black Canary because she is her evil counterpart from an alternate dimension. See, it's simple!
These two first met way back in STF #119...
It looks like the Crimson Dynamo souped up one of those flying SHIELD Volkswagens.
ReplyDeleteI remember the original cover, but not who was on it...
ReplyDeleteSpiderman?
Yup, it was a Marvel Team-Up cover
ReplyDeleteI don't think Sara Lance ever called herself Black Canary on Arrow, did she? It was just The Canary, until she made it White Canary and Laurel became Black Canary.
ReplyDeleteAnd then, making things worse, Laurel's and Sara's mother is named Dinah -- and I'm not sure I've ever caught her maiden name. (I'm of the opinion that Alex Kingston should come in as the Earth-3 Black Canary.)
And didn't the three Canaries on the show first appear in the reverse order in the comics?
As for this particular cover, Ross, it's quite nicely done, and a good use of the Black Canary pose.
I'd like to see the Green Canary - Dinah hulkified.

Well, DC has already had a Jade Canary: That was the alias which Lady Shiva adopted when helping the Birds for a while...
Simreeve's right. And with Alan Scott having come out of the ret-con closet, there's no just plain Jade to confuse her with!
