Deadman and Dark Phoenix

Continued from yesterday's cover, we see that reforming Jean was a bigger job than Boston Brand had anticipated...

With Deadman set to be one of the stars of the Justice League Dark movie, I wonder what actor would work well in the role. I liked how the animated Deadman on Justice League Unlimited had a very distinct speaking voice that other actors that he was in possession of could emulate.  The role also calls for someone who won't mind being under full head makeup for all or most of the film.  Finally, Boston Brand has always had a sense of humor, so an actor with good comic timing would be a plus.  I could see Brad Pitt having fun with the part ten-fifteen years ago, but he may be considered too old and big of a star to be considered now.

  1. the best comedic/dramatic actor i know is Paul Giamatti. He is simply brilliant, although he aint a prettyboy. His voice would be a great personality for Boston Brand.

  2. I think Giamatti could pull off almost anything, but because Deadman isn't well known to the non-comics followers, I'd rather see someone more athletic as that is Nrand is most often portrayed in the comics (despite his condition. You know... Um, dead)

  4. Definitely need someone who looks athletic even if stuntman did most of the stunt work for when Deadman is flying around he should not look like a blimp. Even dead he moved like an acrobat. Of course movie producer will probably turn sleek costume to something that looks like the movie's Flash.

  5. It's a shame more dancers cannot act worth a darn. They are already used to form-fitting and skimpy clothes and most of them have the bodies to look good in real comic-book style costumes.

  6. How about Paul Giamatti's voice dubbed over that androgynous-looking guy from the original STARGATE movie.

  7. @PC: I take it you meant to say "Brand?"

  8. "...even if it means inhabiting her form forever!"

I'm sure there are worse after-lives, Boston. ;-)
