I'm not sure what to expect from the upcoming Han Solo film. The studio changed directors halfway through and as a result there have been some major changes, including at least one character being completely written out. Still, the new director is Ron Howard, who is clearly very talented - plus there was similar behind the scenes turmoil with Rogue One, and I loved how that film turned out. I have fingers crossed that they can pull this one off as well.
For me, Rogue One managed to recapture the magic of the original Star Wars. I liked that one near Jedi character.
ReplyDeleteIt's been a long time, but I do remember enjoying Han Solo at Star's End. There was another novel that I enjoyed, too.
I think the original Star Wars may have been the last movie that managed to make it into theaters without a whole lot of advance hoopla - unlike any movie today... ;)
Maybe a team-up(?) of Thorax (9 Chickweed Lane, Pibgorn) and Herbie popnecker could be shown; I think they're similar.
ReplyDeleteI mean Herbie Popnecker!
ReplyDeleteI could see Herbie and Bouncing boy.
ReplyDeleteLove this cover! Maybe you could do a sequel with Calvin's would-be girlfriend in the same setting and call it..."Heck Hoth No Fury Like A Woman Scorned."
ReplyDeleteI have a few ideas for future issues:
ReplyDeleteThe cast of Red vs. Blue appears in the universe of Team Fortress 2 in "Red vs. B.L.U."
Rorschach and the Punisher join the Red Lantern Corps.
Papyrus (from Undertale) winds up in Eternia, and everyone there mistakes him for Skeletor. Hilarity Ensues.
Love these C&H covers :D Would love to see them team up with Franklin Richards and HERBIE (I think Chris Eliopoulos' Son of a Genius series was a fun book)
ReplyDeleteOr maybe Stupendous Man in the Marvel Universe (Well, Chris Giarusso's Mini-Marvel Universe at least!)
I have avoided the obvious Calvin/Franklin Richards & HERBIE pairing because frankly I always found the Eliopoulos feature to be kind of a rip off of Watterson's work.
ReplyDelete"Solo" has become the first Star Wars film to lose money. At least, that's what I've heard.
