It seems that Shazam! will be one of the next DC movies to go into production, and it has been announced that there will not be an appearance by The Rock as Black Adam after all. The obvious choice for an villain would be Doctor Sivana, but I hope that there's room for at least one other antagonist as well. There are plenty of good ones to choose from, but my choice would definitely be Mr. Mind!
Thor and Captain Marvel clashed in STF #990 and they first crossed paths in STF #120... Thor met the whole Marvel Family in STF #1518...
Since Captain (Shazam!) Marvel is a Superman one-off, I hope that they don't use Sivana - he's just like Luthor. Black Adam is kinda like maybe Bizarro or Sinestro. I really thought the way Mr. Mind was used in Alex Ross' Justice was pretty cool. Luthor had Sivana locked away; and I think it was his and Brainiac's plan, how Mr. Mind was used. (As an aside, I think too much has been made of The Rock playing Black Adam and not enough on who's going to play Billy and the Captain.)
ReplyDeleteNot a one-off.
DeleteFine cover, but where's Uncle Dudley?
ReplyDeleteDudley had no powers to restore. Thor knows that.
ReplyDeleteAdam is the ultimate Capt. Marvel nemesis, so I think it only fitting there should be a build up to his appearance. Possibly Sivana and more contemporary re imagining if Capt. Nazi in the 1st SHAZAM☇flic, then Sivana and Mr. Mind in the 2nd to introduce the Marvel family. That sets up the 3rd film where the Marvel Family teams up to defeat Adam. Just my thoughts...
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid the Shazam movie, which IMHO should be almost cartoony, is going to be very hard to pull off, especially if they try to fit it into the DCEU. And which Billy do they use? CC Beck's innocent newsboy or the New 52's snarky millenial? Either one is going to have a significant part of the audience bitching that it was the wrong choice.
ReplyDeleteI wonder how the Shazam Family would do against the Protectors of the Malibu/Centaur-verse if the former were unleashed against the latter while under the control of Mr. Mind (via the equally brainwashed Craig Carter)?
ReplyDeleteIs it time for Throg vs Hoppy the Marvel Bunny?
ReplyDeleteIt's time for Hoppy to meet Mighty Mouse.
DeleteWith a bit of help from Capt. Carrot?
DeleteThe Captain Marvel(DC) group look like they're not taking mjolnir's lightning smoothly!
ReplyDeleteHoppy met Captain Carrot canonically, in 'The Oz-Wonderland War'. They both tried to impress Wonder Wabbit...
ReplyDeleteI wonder what kind of funny talking animal Access would be in the Capt. Carrot universe?

Maybe the funniest of all... a human?
@Simreeve: How about a Marvel Ape Access? Or a Marvel Werewolf Access? Or a Marvel Zombie Access?
