I enjoyed The Outsiders on their own, but they never seemed to work as well for me as a team without Batman leading them. Later incarnations had Nightwing and others out in front, which was OK, but none of them had any real staying power. This was one group that had the perfect line up from their incarnation, it's too bad the original crew didn't stay together longer.
Where is Katana?
ReplyDeleteYou should have Black Lightning, Storm, Static, and Black Vulcan team up as The Surge Protectors!
ReplyDeleteStill have my fingers crossed for a Keaton themed Batman/Vulture cover for tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteInteresting-looking robot! Almost looks like it was modeled after the Juggernaut (from the X-men comics).
ReplyDeleteGreat cover Ross. A good team up in this vein would be Iron Man and Technocrat from the Outsiders, but no one would know who he was! :-(
ReplyDeleteMaybe the Black Lightning tv show will eventually have The Outsiders since it is set on a different earth from Arrowverse and Supergirl.
ReplyDeleteI'd love that. BL should have been team leader after Batman left anyway.
ReplyDeleteSince the Black Lightning tv show deals with him retiring for a while after being a hero, they should have used the original costume for his early days. I know they didn't because I saw the trailer but it would have been fun. He could have gotten a new look after coming out of retirement.
ReplyDeleteIf BL is on a different Earth, maybe they could show him deriving his name from a meteorological phenomenon first mentioned in ACTION COMICS (v.1) #441 from Nov. 1974.
ReplyDeleteEven in this blog Black Lightning gets no respect! He does not get tag for page but GeoForce and Metamorpho do.
ReplyDeleteHe's too tiny in this pic.
ReplyDeleteIt ain't the size of the chip. It's the intensity of the voltage. ;-)
ReplyDeleteWhile I love the Mike Barr series, I never again want to see Black Lightning as one of Batman's field hands.
ReplyDeleteHappy Belated Fourth of July, Mr. I!
