The Human Torch and The Flash (Part One)

It looks like DC has heard the fans loud and clear, and that Jay Garrick and the rest of the original Justice Society are finally poised to make a return... or perhaps I should say Rebirth.  I applaud this move, their entire line is built upon heroic legacy, and the JSA'ers are the ones that started it all.  Let's hope they will be back in their own series before too long.

This is only this first part of a two-part thriller, so make sure you come back tomorrow for the exciting conclusion!

  1. Awp! This's amazing. I love seeing Golden Age hero's at any opportunity, esp the JSA. My first experience with them was in team up stories in Brave & the Bold and I fell in deep when they appeared in JLA Crisis stories.

  2. Nice!

Seeing the Torch in a WW2-ish setting made me think of Captain America, and so here's another suggestion for an offbeat team-up:
Captain America and -- as a potential replacement for Bucky, of course -- Binky.

  3. I wish I could get excited about the possibility of DC reviving the original Justice Society. I think that the only way I could feel certain that they weren't just going to find some way to ruin it is if they turned it over to writer Jeff Parker....

  4. Who's the villain these two are going after? The Golden Age Psycho-pirate? A early prototype of the Hatemonger (before Arnim Zola started using clones of He Who Has The Same Initials As A--Hole)?

  5. I'll second that Sonofjack Well!
I tried the new version of Earth-Two and it was "meh".

    Give me the original JSA!

  6. @ Anon: He looks more like the love child of Per Degaton and Georgia Sivana. He's got his father's jodhpurs and his maternal grandfather's impaired follicles.

  7. @ Cc: Seriously?! He's more likely a genuine foe of the Golden Age Human Torch, like the Brain or Pin-Head. Only with a completely shaved scalp!

  9. I actually quit buying DC comics after Flashpoint and I was a reader since 60s. I have many of the JSA on my my wall from a calendar. The company said it was a good jumping on point but I thought it was a good jumping off point. Emo Superman did not impress me. The changes in characters have not impressed me new 52 or post latest changes so I am looking but not buying yet.

    1. Did you switch to Marvel or something else after that?

  11. @Anonymous: Nope! Definitely not Pinhead. He wears a clown suit, and keeps asking if everybody's having fun, yet.

  12. P.S.---I'll say it's more likely Clifford "The Thinker" Devoe, disguising himself as a goateed Brain Wave.

  13. Although, Henry King might not regard that kind ofimitation as sincere flattery. ;-)
