Supergirl and Ms. Marvel in: The Grip of the Gladiatrix!"

Supergirl had another enjoyable season, and it was great to have genre actors like Teri Hatcher, Kevin Sorbo, Dean Cain and Lynda Carter in on the fun.  While I find some of the romance subplots to be a bit distracting, the action scenes and use of cool DC characters will have me back for the third season.

This marks the sixth cover featuring The Danvers Twins:

They faced a stone centurion in Issue #1808...

They had robot problems in Issue #1414

They were at odds with one another  in Issue #763...

They played a trick on the world in Issue #520...

...and they were first revealed to be sisters way back in Issue #152

  1. This series really needs a "Danvers Twins" tag. It's pretty cool to follow.

Hopefully we'll also get enough of the Power Couple for them to get their own tag as well.

  2. Ross, Thanks for using one of the more obscure of Kara's outfits, one that I had never seen before. It caused me to do a little research to see where you might have pulled it from (Adventure #412 or so?). I found this nice little recap page of Supergirl's costumes:

  3. @Bob Greenwade: I was kind of expecting the Power Couple in observance of Memorial Day!

The giant super-villainess reminds me of Amazona. A one-shot superheroine of the Golden Age who was kind of a proto-Wonder Woman. But, who's now a public domain character!

  4. Maybe Gladiatrix is Amazona, brainwashed by one of the mind-controlling villains abundant in both universes?

  5. If so, the brainwasher is most likely Dr. Psycho (one of Golden Age WW's worst enemies).
