Fantastic Four Vs. The Crime Syndicate
Given his interest in alternate realities, this is a match-up that could easily be initiated by Mr. Fantastic. I can see Reed Richards being fascinated by the reverse nature of Earth Three and getting mixed up with this evil JLA doppleganger team.
Wow! Yeah I can see this happening too, and man are the FF a bit outmatched in terms of raw power here. This should be good, but I full expect Reed to use his smart to save the day.
Ross, thanks for using the original Sekowsky versions of the Syndicate, instead of their current versions. And I can't tell if Anon was being sarcastic or not up above, but the Crime Syndicate was around long before Marvel's evil JLA doppelgangers, the Squadron Sinister. The Supremes are the babies of the doppelganger family.
To the other Anon: SOJ's right. The situation would be equivalent to my fighting Zatanna as Superman. One look at those fishnet-clad legs of hers and I'd surrender _without_ the use of conjured-up kryptonite!
To Ross: Inspired pairing! How about Slapstick vs. Harley Quinn?*
*Seeing as how she's into clowns who love "Harmon" people. ;-D
I know this is late to the party, by about half a decade. But the cover inspired a thought/memorh. Pre-Crisis (which is pretty much around when my following comics closely really trailed off) I was always hoping for a back up series of at least a nice sized annual exploring one or more of the parallel Earths' differences and similarities. Especially with the non-powered doubles of heroes (did Earth-2 have a Barry Allen that was just a scientist still? Did Earth-S have the Kents, alive and well and childless? Or and unexploded Krypton?) And once Beast Boy/Changeling found out about Earth-2 and the other Earths wouldn't he have been at least curious to know if Rita and the rest had doppelgängers out there? And no scientists or CIA types ever went investigating?
Don't you mean "evil Squadron Supreme doppleganger team"?

Dammit, Reed. First putting people in the Negative Zone, now this?!
ReplyDeleteNow I have to go watch Crisis on Two Earths...thank you!

ReplyDeleteSuperwoman, alone, could easily use her magic lasso to turn Johnny and Ben into her obedient love-slaves.

What makes you think she would need her magic lasso, Anon?
I can see this happening!
ReplyDeleteThe CSA first appeared in JLA 29 (first series) and that was my first comic book!
My wife bought me a page from that comic for my birthday a few years ago.

Nice Ultraman page!
ReplyDeleteTo quote the old Guinness commercials ... "brilliant!". Thank you, Ross.

Awesome clash. Might I suggest the Fantastic Four versus the Four (from Planetary)?
ReplyDeleteI was going to suggest CS vs. the Avengers, but Ross has already done that.
ReplyDeleteThough a second match would always be a good idea...
@ KC: has he already done Squadron Supreme vs. Crime Syndicate of America?
ReplyDeleteYep! See STF #1682 (circa 11/20/16)
