Eternity in the DC Universe

Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2 brought us Ego, the Living Planet and The Watchers, and truly opened up the cosmic scope of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.  Could James Gunn go even bigger and give us a glimpse at Eternity when he finishes up his trilogy?  The Celestials cameo in the first movie was great and I'd love to see his take on the biggest Marvel character of all.

  1. If the MDU does incorporate Eternity, my guess is that it would be in Dr. Strange.

  3. Gunn already had Starlord see Eternity in GotG2. He gains cosmic awareness and says his name.

  4. One has to wonder if Eternity was summoned to the DCU by his namesake kid.

  5. You know what the funniest thing associated with Eternity is? The time he socked Hank Pym in the face. His reasoning: he has no choice because that's how Pym sees the universe.

  6. @Aaron Ramos: That must have been when Yellowjacket was still with the original Defenders, and Eternity needed their help retrieving some experimentally personified aspects of himself.

  7. Would Eternity's suggestion re-create the Amalgam Universe?

  8. OMG! I hope not. The last Access mini-series provided a nice, happy ending for Dr. Strangefate and company (a la Franklin Richards placing his version of Counter-Earth in a blue "rubber ball"). And neither one of those alternate worlds should _ever_ be resurrected (anymore than the Parkers).

  10. Re: Cary's & Anon comment: And Kid E can summon the shades of Rich Buckler, Bernie Wrightson, Darren Cooke, etc. to "finish the story".
