Here's another team up that I would have loved to have seen animated in my childhood. I loved both of these cartoons when I was growing up, for different reasons.
The Super-Friends featured the characters that I loved from the comic books, and
Space Ghost had more action. Maybe a crossover is something that DC can finally do today, at least in comic form.
Space Ghost met the Justice League of America back in
STF #1249...
OH, MAN! This would have been a perfect Saturday morning crossover, between ABC and NBC, back in the Eighties.
ReplyDeleteThanks, again, for the nostalgia, Ross.
Kind of reminds me of one of my favorite Batman stories from the sixties #183, August of 1966. (This is the one where Batman is going to stay in and watch himself on TV.)
ReplyDeleteAre Batman and Superman reading about Adam Strange? That looks like his sort of landscape outside the window and Space Ghost refers to the World, not the Earth, so it could be Rann. It would add some irony to a fun cover if they were reading about what was actually happening.
ReplyDeleteYou do know that a Space Ghost/Green Lantern crossover is coming out soon? (Or maybe it already has; I haven't been in a comic shop for a few weeks.)
ReplyDeleteCool cover Ross. Along the lines of this team up, how about Zatara meets Mandrake? Or the Invaders (tv series) meets the Invaders (comic series)?
ReplyDelete@ BB: It already has. Pretty good story! But, a very misleading cover.
ReplyDeleteZatara meets Mandrake sounds cool; could be a start of a series .. Mandrake recruits Zatara; Zatara recruits Enchantress; Enchantress recruits Dr. Fate; Fate recruits Brother Voodoo; Voodoo recruits Zatana , etc until whole team is assembled on cover against foe(s).
ReplyDeleteWhich Enchantress, though? Amora of Asgard or June Moone of the Suicide Squad?
ReplyDeleteI have found useable Zatara images tough to come by.
ReplyDeleteConsidering that this week we got that Banana Splits / Suicide Squad crossover that no one expected, who's to say that this crossover won't actually happen...?
ReplyDeleteAmora of Asgard, I was going back and forth between Marvel and DC on each cover although adding the Enchantress recruiting the Enchantress is a good idea.
ReplyDeleteSee Ross, there's your next big theme idea - COUNTERPARTS! Characters that are named the same at both DC and Marvel. Enchantress, Scarecrow, Nighthawk, Nova... there have to be plenty!
ReplyDeleteI have posted plenty of counterpart issues already - Scarecrows, Enchantresses, Captain Marvels, Guardians, Tarantulas, Sandmans, Things, Jack O'Lanterns, and so on...
ReplyDeleteAnd we've all enjoyed them.
ReplyDeleteAlthough, we might enjoy Golden Age and Silver Age Black Orchids, just as much.

There was a Golden Age 'Black Orchid'?
**
@Simreeve: two of them, actually. The more famous one was published by Harvey Comics; and the lesser-known one, by Tops Comics. The former was the secret identity of Judy Allen (secretary of private eye Rocky Ford, who was secretly the Scarlet Nemesis). And the latter was Diana Dawn; secretary of crusading DA Richard Day.
