I'm loving that Jonny Quest is again in the spotlight with
Future Quest. Even better, the title is used as a springboard for bringing back many other Hanna-Barbera action heroes. And even better still, those characters will be crossing over with some of DC's most popular heroes in an upcoming series of annuals! Those promise to be fun comics.
Love the fact you used Doug Wildey's art from the Comico series. He's such a lovely, underrated artist.
ReplyDeleteThose upcoming annuals make me sad for one reason and one reason only, the overlooked the most obvious one. The JLI and Scooby Apoclaypse
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of teaming up Johnny Quest and the Man-Thing and the idea that Ted Sallis and Benton Quest are old friends. However, I don't think that the Man-Thing would be a threat to Benton because Benton's reaction to Man-Thing would be curiosity and compassion rather that fear....
ReplyDeleteI too am loving Future Quest, and I'm looking forward to two of the upcoming DC-HB crossovers. The obvious crossover I'd like to see is Scooby Apoclaypse and Kamandi. Batman and Blue Falcon would be cool as well. Now, if only someone would revive Inch High Private Eye!
I bought Future Quest for Johnny Quest, but I was pleasantly surprised about how characters I did not like as a kid like Frankenstein Jr. are made interesting.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to those annuals with immense pleasure, Ross. And, great job with today's cover! It looks like it might've come from a comic book adaptation of "Terror Island" (the second of Jade's two appearances, I believe).
ReplyDeleteP.S. @ my namesake: the Resident Evil-like version of "Wacky Races" would be a more fitting crossover with "Scooby Apocalypse."
ReplyDeleteWay to go, Ross! :-)
ReplyDeleteHow about the 1967 cartoon Spidey meets the animated Brave & The Bold Batman?
@Cary Comic- I agree. In fact why not Filmation Batman and Robin meeting Spider-Man '67! with those versions of Joker and Green Goblin! Saturday morning superstars indeed.
ReplyDeleteSouth Florida's greatest heroes!
ReplyDelete@Isaac: Brilliant!
