I think that these two would make for an interesting pairing. They both appreciate a good brawl and have no problem kicking back with a cold brew or two once the crime fighting is done. They would either get along famously or get on each other's nerves... either way it would be a blast to see them share an adventure together.
Wow. Your covers are normally good but the arm wrestle is seamless. That is impressive.
ReplyDeleteI thought the same.
DeleteThanks, this one took a lot of tweaking to get right.
ReplyDelete"What secret is Ted Grant holding?"
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing...the Heartstrings of Aphrodite.
Much though I admire Ted Grant's record, I fear that -- unless he's been given some additional advantage here -- this arm-wrestling match would be even more one-side than the [DC canon] match between Atom-Smasher and Black Adam.
ReplyDeleteH'mm, Ted has been close to Queen Hippolyte of the Amazons, and her memories of past "conquest" by [a] DC version of Hercules are not happy ones...
Oops! That should have said "some very good additional advantage".
ReplyDeleteThat spilled mead just gave me a thought. What if Wildcat had imbibed a little Miraclo?
ReplyDeleteBlaine voiced my thought exactly. I can't even tell that the two heroes were drawn on separate occasions, let alone by separate artists!
ReplyDeleteI'm a big Wildcat fan, but I find it hard to believe that he could out arm wrestle the Prince of Power under any circumstances. I find it even harder to believe that Wildcat could EVER out drink Hercules! Darts? I'm okay with that....
ReplyDeleteI notice that Ted seems to destroy any Marvel characters he shares a cover with.
ReplyDeleteHeh - well, I have said that Bob Haney was the patron saint of this blog... and like Haney, I really love using Wildcat.
ReplyDeleteWith all due respect to BH? Wildcat amped up by Miraclo would be the _only_ way he could _ever_ out-do Herc at arm wrestling.
