While I always preferred Warren Worthington with the traditional feather wings, his Archangel look was pretty cool. It will be fun to see those metal wings in action in X-Men Apocalypse. I wasn't so crazy about Hawkman and Hawkwoman switching to metal wings during their Hawkworld phase, but fortunately, that didn't last too long.
I agree with you about the metal wings. The feather wings just look so much more majestic. Hawkman and Hawkwoman have never been that successful as characters, but you can count of them to bring them back every 3 to 5 years. My theory as to why is because visually they are so stunning.
ReplyDeleteI don't know who did the artwork on him during HAWKWORLD'S lack-of-glory days. But, DC's Silver Age artists made Kanjar Ro more appropriately menacing-looking.
