I don't know if it has been officially announced that Cate Blanchet will be playing Hela in
Thor: Ragnarok, but that seems to be the general consensus of what her role will be. I hope so, because I have always enjoyed the character in the comics, and Blanchet is perfect for the part. Hopefully we will see some of that great Hela headgear as designed by Jack Kirby or Walt Simonson.
Will Blanchet being dying her hair raven-black? Because that's how Jack Kirby always drew Hela in THOR. As a drop-dead gorgeous brunette with raven-black hair!
ReplyDeleteP.S.---just got back from seeing CAPT. AMERICA: CIVIL WAR tonight. And, as expected...it kicked butt, took names, and gave me a lot of food for thought. It ran for almost two-and-a-half hours! But, it was worth it. I got to see the new Spider-man (and milf-ish Aunt May). Plus, previews of DR. STRANGE...and THE SUICIDE SQUAD.
ReplyDeleteIn short? Ten stars. :-)
Poor Deadman is in such agony and you're worried about an actress's hair???
ReplyDeleteAnyway, how can someone be brunette and have black hair?
Ross, another cover well done.
I've always thought Kirby's Asgardian headgear looked silly even on the page, yet somehow the costumers for the Thor series have made Loki's horned helmet actually look cool. I've little doubt that they could do the same for this piece of Hela's.
ReplyDeleteAs for this cover, Ross, again this is a job very well done. I've long had a soft spot for Deadman, and this sort of story would be a great, interesting twist to his personal story.
@Anonymous--- "Brunette" is my own personal classification for women who are either black-haired or brown-haired. :P
ReplyDeleteAnd, if Hela is mind-controlling him somehow, I doubt Deadman is feeling anything. Sort of like a wounded zombie from the RESIDENT EVIL film franchise.
Ergo: my non-rhetorical question stands.
@Cary: Not just yours. The Oxford English Dictionary says that "brunette" means "of or marked by dark or relatively dark pigmentation; of hair and eyes: brown, black."

ReplyDeleteThanks, Bob! :-)
