Ironic considering it was announced today Jonah Hex will be on the Legends of Tomorrow when the team travels to the Old West. The only time I read Jonah Hex growing up was the two times he guest starred in Justice League of America. When the series ended I followed the short lived Hex (which I remember the cover this scene came from) and hated when it ended. I understand it was not a popular series - a poor man's Mad Max I believe was what several reviews called it - but is was interesting. I did read the two Vertigo series that brought him back years later. Hollywood helped because Unforgiven was a hit at the time.

ReplyDeleteThe feature film version of Jonah Hex was more of a poor man's version of GHOST RIDER than UNFORGIVEN. Which is sort of ironic given how I will never forgive Hollywood for bastardizing the latter so badly and needlessly!
