Mysterio is my choice for a villain when Spider-Man gets his next solo movie (this time with Marvel Studios' involvement). Not only has he not been used before, his special effect's driven abilities will lend themselves well for plenty of visually interesting action scenes. The only problem is once again both hero and villain will have full face concealing costumes - and we know how Hollywood hates that!
Spidey didn't get along too well with
Billy Batson either...
Interesting. Darth Vader has done pretty well with a face concealing mask. Same with Kylo Ren for the most part. If it serves to story to show Mysterio out of his helmet once, I'm cool with that...
ReplyDeleteI loved the Daredevil arc with Mysterio that Kevin Smith wrote when he still wrote good comics. Perfect for any street-level movie, but certainly Spider-Man.
ReplyDeleteWhat a "Marvel-ous" way to start the New Year, Ross! :-D
ReplyDeleteI can just picture Mysterio building a Mr. Atom-sized robotic doppleganger of Mr. Mind for the latter's people-killing use.
Wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI think it might serve at some point to have Mr. Mind team up with Molecule Man. Mind over matter, right? (Okay, that might have worked better as a pun... but they'd also give a good chance for a ridiculously alliterative story title!) The heroes would probably have to be the original Captain Marvel with the Fantastic Four (or maybe just the Thing), but I think it could work.
Oops... that's my Anonymous, above.
ReplyDeleteInteresting concept! Have you ever considered a Spidey/Doom Patrol team-up?
ReplyDeleteCan't say I have but Spidey goes with pretty much anyone...
ReplyDeleteI know. In fact, I think that's the _real_ reason MJ turned him down the first time he proposed. *Ba-DUM-boom!*
ReplyDeleteNice!
ReplyDeleteHere's another idea: what if it was MJ who had the 'Mary Marvel' alternative persona?
^_^
