Most of the
New Gods stories I've read have revolved around Darkseid, Mr. Miracle or Orion. I have always thought that Lightray was cool and wanted to learn more about him. I liked his sunny disposition and power set - he seems like he would fit in quite well with Thor's supporting cast.
I always liked Lightray. He got more exposure in the 70's Return Of The New Gods series as well as a Secret Origins special spotlight.
ReplyDeleteWhile googling for images of Big Barda recently (as one does... ^_^ ), I found some pages of her fighting against a self-proclaimed 'Thor, God of Thunder': Can anybody here tell me what the background of THAT 'Thor' was?
ReplyDeleteThe only Thor I remember appearing in DC Comics (that didn't involve a crossover with Marvel, or a revival of that Golden Age JSA foe "Fairytales Fenton") was the one Superman and Wonder Woman met during a pre-Flashpoint story some twenty-five years back. Whereas Superman was gone for only about a week, from Lois' point of view, to her Kryptonian hubby, it had literally been a thousand years!
ReplyDeleteBtw: if memory continues to serve, weren't New Genesis and Apokolips implied to be the remnants of a post-Ragnarok Asgard? Like the one depicted during the Celestials story arc (preceding THOR vol. 1/#300)?
One of the things I enjoy most about your covers is the clever titles you come up with. I hope that people are taking the time to read and enjoy them.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sonofjack - I hope so too!
ReplyDeleteGreat cover once again, and I agree; I really enjoy the titles of each comic, always quite witty
