The one rumor about
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice that I really hope is not true is that in the DC cinematic universe, Jim Gordon will already be dead. This would be a waste of Batman's second best supporting character, especially since it would mean we wouldn't see him in future films either, save for flashbacks. I'd love to see someone like Bryan Cranston (who has voiced the role before) acting opposite Ben Affleck in a future flick. I'm warming up to TV's Gordon on Gotham, but that guy really needs a pair of glasses and a mustache!
Well, the one who plays Gordon on GOTHAM is still too young for that kind of look. So, if my prayers for a second season are answered in the affirmative (for once), maybe he'll have further opportunity to grow some facial hair...and a slight case of myopia.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea behind this one (and the execution). Gordon and DD would work incredibly well together.
ReplyDeleteGordon is Batman's oldest supporting character- he first appeared in the very first Batman story. He really should have his own series by now.
Bryan Cranston would rock the house as a live-action Jim Gordon. Which animated version(s) has he voiced?
ReplyDeleteI agree with Alaric that this is one of your more compelling covers. The story just begs for a follow-up -- maybe Batman does something with Matt's priest (whose name escapes me) or some other part of DD's supporting cast?
I think Mazzuchelli (who had a pretty respectable tenure on "Daredevil") would be tickled to see one of his other figures blending so well with a Wally Wood Daredevil. I was wondering if Wood had ever drawn Gordon and I realized he very nearly did-- ghosting on Eisner's "Spirit" he must have drawn Commissioner Dolan several times. Dolan might do well in a detectives club with Sherlock Holmes and Nelson Strong. You could call it "Meerschaum Kat Manor".
ReplyDeleteThe sequel should be Batman and Foggy Nelson!
ReplyDeleteBryan Cranston played Gordon in the Animated Year One
ReplyDeleteI can see if Jim Gordon isn't in a Man of Steel sequel; but don't kill the character off.
ReplyDeleteThis is an awesome team-up.
Why isn't Daredevil part of The Batman Family?
How about Thanos vs. Lady Death?
ReplyDelete@Anonymous: You're talking about the Evil Ernie character Lady Death? That probably would have been put off after this cover:

...but after two years another version could work.
