One aspect that I used to get a kick out of with Hal Jordan was how, despite being a superhero and intergalactic peacekeeper, he always seemed to have a tough time keeping his personal life together. He was a great test pilot, but upon losing that job, he went through a series of occupations such as toy salesman that never really clicked for him. He didn't have much luck with the ladies either - finally winning the heart of Carol Ferris only to have her become his arch-enemy.
Why is he? Why? Why, Mogo, Why?
ReplyDeleteGeez, I'm too much into this story and it doesn't even exist!
I have an better question. Why not HJ-as-the-Spectre vs. Mephisto?
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to forget Hal Jordan as the Spectre ever happened...
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't say Hal didn't have luck with the ladies, but he was a douchebag. He stole Guy Gardner's fiancé, (Kari Limbo), hooked up with a 14 year old, (Arisa), picked a fight with John Stewart because he wanted his woman (Rose), and one time when he teamed up with Supergirl, he couldn't stop thinking about hooking up.
ReplyDeleteRoss is talking about pre-Crisis Hal; Ed is talking about post-Crisis -- except for Kari Limbo, but she and Hal got together when Guy was believed to be dead. After Hal discovered Guy was alive in the Phantom Zone and rescued him, he and Kari broke up.
ReplyDeleteThis cover could never happen. Everyone knows Mogo doesn't socialize! :)
ReplyDelete@Ross: But, I will not let HJ as Spectre be ignored. Bwa-hahahahahaha!
ReplyDelete;-)
I recently heard there was supposed to be a team-up between GL Jordan and STAR TREK: TOS (courtesy of DC and IDW). But, so far, it hasn't appeared at any comic shop I frequent. Have these two publishing houses pulled a Dave Ryan?
