I featured the JLA against one of the Avengers' villains yesterday, so it's only fair that to reverse that idea today. I have always liked that the Crime Syndicate were not just evil versions of the Justice League members, they were from a whole parallel universe where everything was flipped on its head. Writers like Grant Morrison really had fun with the concept of that alternate reality. Based on the most recent line-wide event, it looks like they are right in the center of the current goings on in the DCU these days.
Oooo, I hope Thor shows up to kick Ultraman's butt...But then there's Owlman to deal with...
ReplyDeleteHah! Great cover Ross! Hmmm, maybe you should try the Crime Syndicate verses The Squadron Supreme! That would be a hoot!!!

OH! Or the League verses the Squadron!!!

There has been a Squadron/Jla cover already, at least...
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite lines from JLA/Avengers: Hawkeye, when meeting the JLA, "They're just a bunch of Squadron Supreme wannabes".
ReplyDeleteIt's a shame they never expanded on the Pre-Crisis Syndicate before they were killed in COIE. Maybe they could've done something like a one-shot that explained the origins and backstories of the Syndicate members, and Alexander Luthor as well. It could also have explained how the Syndicate returned to Earth-Three before the Crisis hit.
ReplyDeleteI say put those guys up against the Squadron Supreme or do a team up with the Squadron Sinister.
ReplyDeleteHey, what was the setting for the background source cover? It looks like the U. S. Air Force Academy!
