I remember being very excited when
X-Factor was first announced. X-Men spin-offs were still an uncommon thing in those days, and here was one that promised to unite the original team! It was a strange book, though. They had a wonky set up - "we'll disguise ourselves as mutant hunters in order to secretly protect them", and then they changed Angel to Archangel and Beast back to his human form, neither of which I was too crazy about. Still, it was always enjoyable to see the first five together. I do remember the Walt Simonson run of the title fondly.
Changing Angel to Death/Archangel was the best thing to happen to that character in decades. Then they changed HIM back and then back AGAIN from what I have heard.
ReplyDeleteI'm just now reading the All-New X-Men, and I like the idea of the original five getting a chance to see their future selves and trying to cope with all that has happened.
ReplyDeleteThat said, Booster Gold, the superhero from the future, has got me thinking of a few possible covers. Like the Time Trapper or the Lord of Time trying to deal with the Guardians of the Galaxy, either version or both. Or Kang or Korvac against the Legion of Super-Heroes. What do you think?

Cool ideas... you'll see theLSH vs some marvel bad guys as well as covers featuring GotG members old and new...
ReplyDeleteI miss the old Booster.
