Rorschach and The Spirit

These two guys may not have any fancy powers, but they would still be a formidable team.  Their tenacity and knowledge of the city's dark secrets make them a constant thorn in the side for the underworld or anyone who would prey on the innocent.  And they would look damned good dealing out their punishment - the trench coat and fedora motif might not be that practical for crime fighting, but it almost always works very well visually.

  4. Speaking of trenchcoat heroes, I'm trying to remember if the Question has appeared in this yet. I think he'd be an interesting team-up with Spider-Man.

  6. I disagree that a trenchcoat and a fedora aren't suitable for crimefighting. The coat protects form the elements (and with a little invisible reincofrcement, from knives or even bullets), and the hat can help to conceal your identity without obscuring your vision.
If the coat is reversible, you could use it to switch away from your heroic identity. Similarly, many hats are made to be rolled and unfolded without wrinkling, so it could be readily stored to let you go bareheaded - or even replace your grim gray fedora with a green trilby with a feather.
    An excellent cover, BTW.
