Captain Atom and The Human Torch

There are a lot of cool headquarters in comics  Batman has his cave, Superman has his fortress and Doctor Strange has his Sanctum Sanctorum.  Still there was always something I really liked about the Fantastic Four's Baxter Building, mainly because it has been effectively used as a plot point in some of the FF's best stories.  Whether it was launched into outer space, used as a gateway to the negative zone, or being crashed by super villains, it has always been like another character.  I think my favorite tale was during John Byrne's run, where The Trapster is thwarted in his invasion attempt solely by the Building's security system - great stuff!

  1. Dave sez,

    Cool!
I liked Pat Broderick's art. I think if I remember right he did Fury of Firestorm in the '80's as well as Captain Atom toward the late '80's early '90's, right?

I remember my first issue of FF. Reed and Johnny tried recruiting Luke Cage to replace Ben, who had been de-powered somehow. Alicia's dad The Puppetmaster had taken control of Cage...

I never got to see how that resolved...

  2. Captain Atom & Human Torch? Cap. 1 Torchie 0, that's how I see it. Once again, and oddball pairing that works, thanks for doing such a good job Ross.
