The Hulk Vs. Sinestro

The biggest disappointment about the tepid reception to the Green Lantern film is that it now looks to be highly unlikely that we will ever get to see Mark Strong really get to cut loose as Sinestro.  Strong was one of the best parts about the movie, but the filmmakers were clearly holding back with him, leaving his story to be resolved in a sequel that will probably never come.  The producers should have jettisoned the whole Hector Hammond sub plot and went with a straight up Hal vs. Sinestro story line.  Who knows - the Hulk found a new lease on life after two so-so film outings, maybe there's a glimmer of hope for GL and Sinestro to shine again on the big screen.

  1. I understand the Green Lantern movie didn't lose money after all, it just didn't make it all back in the first couple of weeks. The same is true for the John Carter film. In Hollywood these days, if you're not instantly successful, then you're a bomb.

  4. Fitting pairing--over on deviantart, user Red-Rum 18 has this "New Amalgam Comics" series he's working on using the Microheroes program. One of the mergers he did was the mythos of Green Lantern (as in the Corps) and the Hulk. The result is the Green Giant (Bruce Jordan), a member of the Green Nova Corps (GLC/Nova Corps), and his fight against Leadestro (Sinestro/The Leader) and his Riot Corps (Sinestro Corps/Riot Squad).
