Justice League of America and Spider-Man
Well, it has been announced that Brian Michael Bendis is leaving the Avengers titles for the X-Men titles once the Avengers Vs. X-Men series is over. Maybe we will finally have Spider-man off of the Avengers now. Don't get me wrong. I like having Spidey guest star in tales featuring The Avengers or the FF, but as a full time tema member it just doesn't work for me. Spidey's loner status is a big part of his appeal and I think he loses something when he becomes an accepted member of a premier super-team. Of course, now that BMB is going to be on the X-Books, maybe we'll be seeing Spidey in an X-Man uniform soon!
Fantastic!
ReplyDeleteI guess he could be on teh X-Men since he is kind of a mutant as his body chemistry had to mutate after that spider bite. I always wanted to see Spidey on the Avengers when I was a kid but they had to do it when I now can't afford to buy comic books. By the way Superman and Batman are being pretty hard on Peter here. I know they hold no responsibility in the death of their parents or Krypton but it was those deaths that made them what they are today. Uncle Ben's death made Peter take his powers more serious and go from a show business act to a superhero.
ReplyDeleteDave sez,
ReplyDeleteThat's pretty harsh of the League, considering Barry Allen killed Professor Zoom, Superman later executed Kryptonians, Ray Palmer had a breakdown not unlike Hank Pym's, Wonder Woman killed Max Lord - and don't even get started on Batman!
:)
I may be the only one, but I enjoyed Bendis' take on the New Avengers. I didn't pick up the individual issues, I read them by trade paperback. I liked Spider-Man as part of a team. Yeah, I know it goes against his whole everyman, poor-loser status. Maybe not The Avengers, but maybe he should be on a team like The Defenders, with Dr. Strange and The Hulk.
...Not even Bendis could get me to pick up an X-Men book, unless it was the one and only X-Men book marvel published and not one of a dozen or so...
Wow... that is PERFECT!
ReplyDeleteThey should decline because, he sold his soul/marriage to the devil.
ReplyDeleteThey used this picture in the Batman VS. Spiderman Death Battle episode.
ReplyDeleteThe word balloons make it sound more like Spidey is having a Doc Destiny-type nightmare.
