The Demon and The Gargoyle

I always thought that these two characters were visually quite similar.  Their personalities are quite different however, and a tale featuring them both could be very interesting.  Etrigan is once again appearing monthly in the pages of Demon Knights, but I have lost track of The Gargoyle in recent years. I hope Marvel finds a place for him because I have a soft spot for the character.

  1. Doom Patrol/X-Men, Swamp Thing/Man-Thing, Green Arrow/Hawkeye, Red Tornado/The Vision, ha- since the new Super Team format began, its become so eerie to see how DC and Marvel just flat out mirrored each other over the years. and yet, both companies have also had some fairly unique heroes as well.

    Wow, what a cover!

Until today, I had never heard of Marvel's Gargoyle! I have heard of the Grey Gargoyle, and Disney's Gargoyle Goliath...

  5. OOh, here's a challenge, or a game for the break room if you have comic fan co-workers: How many African-American super-heroes/heroines can you name without the word black in their name? Falcon, Power Man, Static, Storm (actually, I'm assuming she's a naturalized American by now), Sabre (Eclipse), Spawn (remember?), etc.

  6. I also had a soft spot for the Gargoyle (he was in the Defenders or the New Defenders, depending on which logo was on the cover. Isaac was also welcome as the first really OLD superhero (well... other than Captain America, of course... sorta).

    And yes, this cover ROCKS!

  7. Was just rereading the Gargoyle mini-series and wondered if you had done this combo. Of course you had. It's a great one.
