Superman Vs. Green Goblin

While I enjoyed David Corenswet as The Man of Steel, there was something that prevented his performance from being perfect.  I saw one reviewer comment that he always kept his Clark Kent persona, even when he was operating as Superman, and I have to agree.  I understand the need to keep the hero approachable and nice, but I still would like a slightly more commanding presence put forward when in costume.  Hopefully that adjustment will be made for Man of Tomorrow.

  1. He's the green kryptonite goblin now? Will Lex Luthor let him get the credit for ending Superman himself using the same method?

    1. If Luthor is petty enough to try and slay Gobby over color-scheme trademark infringement (see STF #2537 @ 3/25/2019), then he'll be even more narcissistic about the destruction of Superman by anyone else's hands.

  2. David was like that in Supergirl as well. Chris did a fantastic job coming out of the gate. Fun cover.

  3. The problem with Henry Cavill's Superman was that he was too much of the Super, not enough Man. The problem with Corenswet's Superman is that he's too much Man, not enough Super.

    1. Maybe so. But, I also prefer Cavill over Cornsweat.

  4. Great cover, but I'm wondering is the Superman a cover or a splash page from Superman, Superman Family or maybe the Superfriends since Lois hair is styled from the 70s and Jimmy is wearing a Turtleneck

  5. I found the Superman cover but it wasn't where I thought it would be, it was one of the Action Comics from 1977, I honestly didn't think that Schaffenberger did any type of run in Action.

  6. I disagree, I thought David did just fine, and can't wait to see more of him in future projects. That said, I also acknowledge that there will NEVER be another Christopher Reeve!

    1. More power to you, then. But, the only DC film currently doing worse business at my hometown multiplex than Superman '25 and Supergirl '26, put together, is "Clayface." Just saying.
