Well, Mar-Vell could be serving as a special deputy Accuser (the Kree equivalent of a Mega-City Judge) and this could be a clone of the Golden Age Black Canary (ostensibly the daughter of a police commissioner who was a pro-feminist widower). In any case, this would just be crazy enough a line-up in a real-world comic book that copies would sell-out due to overwhelming curiosity.
Div - Just consider this an unofficial Neverwar tie-in, where combatants from across space and time are thrown together. You'll see more of that conflict in the coming months.
By the way, since Paramount IS buying Warner Brothers, does this mean all those crossovers will happen for real now?? Animaniacs on the Enterprise bridge?...Hellooooo, Nurse!!
Unrelated comment: Would you believe that there's a character who canonically lives in a Reality with superheroes; had their own main series from 1945 to 1973, with 203 issues of this plus another 91 issues spread across several short-lived series (and even 27 issues of a spin-off series for another character who'd first appeared in that main series); and yet has never appeared here?
Re: your first question. Some of Bob Hope's "Road To..." comedies were directed by David Butler. While one of the earliest of the Death Race remakes co-starred David Carradine and Yancy Butler. Am I even close? Bueller?? Anyone???
Is there supposed to be a theme here? This seems like a pretty random group of characters.

ReplyDeleteP.S.---is that Charles Laughton as Quasimodo in the lower right corner?
ReplyDeleteBy George! I think you've got it!

ReplyDelete👍 Thanks
DeleteWill the Neverwar include Mr Universe as well? That could become as full a cover as the end of Avengers' Endgame!!

ReplyDelete*hops over to Mike's Amazing World for about a half hour*
DeleteAh-ha! Found it! Only it looks like it actually went for 207 issues, not 203.
"Hi, folks. This is Bob 'Ross has yet to debut me alongside anyone (even buried in the background of a super-group shot). right here!' Hope."
DeleteMaybe Mr. Hope could be paired with Death Racer. (I'll wait to see who understands my reasoning.)
DeleteWell, my mistake -- I should have referenced Black Racer, not Death Racer. Sorry.
DeleteResume guessing.
We might also get to see Casper the Friendly Ghost meet Scooby-Doo!
Deleteto Anonymous (October 7, 2026 at 2:02 PM): Oops! You're right. That's even more reason for them to "deserve" an appearance here...
Delete@Carycomic: now, who's overreaching?
DeletePersonally, I'll agree with Superman: if I'm going to follow someone into battle, I'd pick Captain America.
ReplyDeleteMaybe his Neverwar team could include Iron Beetle, Tundro, and Underdog.
Unrelated: I think one of the greatest possible comedy issues would be Pinky & the Brain vs the Inferior Five.

Delete@Anon639: Like Reed Richards in "DR. STRANGE & THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS"? I think you over-reached yourself.
DeleteUnrelated, but… if Judge Dredd is this big a zealot, who believes that he IS the law, when will he get into a fight with Ronan the Accuser?
ReplyDeleteProbably around the same time Mangog takes on the Bondsmen...led by Roger Moore.
