It's never been entirely clear how old Tintin was. He seems young, but he works as a reporter and, in the earlier stories, lives on his own in his own apartment. Later, he moves into Marlinspike Hall with Captain Haddock (whose been known to booze it up quite a bit, himself). He's generally treated as a young adult, rather than a child.
Good one. But Tintin was named for the French yarn doll Rintintin (and Nenette) whom the famous dog was named after. They were quite popular with children as anyone could make them. Designed by Francisque Poulbot. It was an inside joke with Herge that Tintin was actually Tomboy. Its not a joke that Tintin works for a Fascist newspaper, lol. Herge even dressed him up in a brownshirt on an illustration of WW2 planes.
If it is, I can just hear Tintin singing his own going-into-battle song.
"Iron Man! Iron Man! Does whatever an iron can. Presses clothes wrinkle-free. Doot-doot-doot! Dee-dee-dee! Hey, there! Here comes the Iron Maaaaaaaan!"
Boozing it up... in front of a child? Oh, Tony, Tony... ;)

DeleteMaybe that's actually the robot called 'Tin', from pre-Crisis 'Earth 11', who appeared in one issue of 'Tales of the Teen Titans' ?

Where's Snowy? Could this be... a rescue mission?

He looks more like Daitokuji-san from PROJECT A-KO.
ReplyDeleteYes, where's Snowy? Stark could build a little suit for him too. He had a spacesuit when they went to the moon.
ReplyDeleteNah! That would make him look too much like K-9 (from "Doctor Who:TOS").
DeleteWhere did the Iron Man art for this cover come from? Looks like it could be a fun read.
ReplyDeleteStrange Tales Vol. 2 #2
ReplyDeleteAre you sure that wasn't Tales Of Suspense #48?
Deletedoes the suit come with stilts for shorter people who won't fill the whole suit?
ReplyDeletedoes the suit shrink as needed?
That sounds more like the description of Bozo the Golden Age Iron Man.
DeleteHey! There's an idea. Bozo the Iron Man piloted by his namesake (Larry Harmon's world-famous clown)!
