Despite all of their differences, for some reason I think that these two could find some common ground. As long as they were up against a mutual enemy, anyway.

Conan would have to be representing the proper authorities though. Tracy would also have to be holding something important for Conan not to laugh at him because of his size(?).
ReplyDeleteConan's perfectly happy the represent the proper authorities, so long as they're paying him a reasonable amount to do it. Or if the story takes place after he's achieved his kingship, in which case he IS the proper authorities.
DeleteI think they'd bond over a shared sense of... realism? I'm not sure that's the word I'm looking for, but for all the many, many differences in their outlooks, there's a certain similar quality, as well. And they can both be similarly inexorable.

ReplyDeleteI can see Tracy winding up in the Hyborian Age as the result of some stolen mystical talisman like, say, the Lamp of Larko (first encountered by the Dynamic Duo in Detective Comics v.1/#322). And Larko turning out to be one of Conan's rogues' gallery of evil wizards.

Only slightly more sensibly: King Kong on the Planet of the Apes.
BOOM! studios already put out a Kong on the Planet of the Apes series a bit under a decade ago.

DeleteThe Return to the Planet of the Apes carton had its own King Kong character in a couple of episodes as well way back in 1975. It was worshipped by a group of apes with a pacifist culture much like the one found in Shangri-La.
