These guys are all heroes, but they've all done some shady stuff as well. Not many heroes would give them pause, but being stared down by the Spectre has got to be an exception!

Dr Strange might have some questions for Spectre considering everything he has done. Hulk could be stripped from Banner. Surfer could be in between sering Mr G...Namor...anybody's guess. Spectre might have some different views on each of them. Fabulous idea, Ross.
ReplyDeleteGood points Detective Tobor. Talk about casting the first stone. The Spectre has been busy here lately, maybe due to the Holidays rapidly approaching. (Plus everything else going on in the world.) Backtracking here on brave and bold shows The Spectre was willing to help the Hulk, but he also called The Shadow on the carpet for prior transgressions. Hmm. But this issue would be an awesome collector's item for sure!
ReplyDeleteI know of only two things that could arguably be called "sins" with regard to Stephen Strange. The crisis that forced him to learn some dark magic from Kaluu. And the destruction of valuable mystic talismans at his Greenwich Village sanctum in order to keep them out of Urthona's hands (inadvertently causing that crisis*).

Doesn't the Spectre believe in the concept of double jeopardy? He's judged Namor twice (STF #'s 3425 & 4582) without eliminating him. Ditto for the Silver Surfer (@ STF #'s 2600 & 3378). And _thrice for Dr. Strange_ (@ STF #'s110, 458, and 2079) without punishment!

@Anon 10:40 AM - Perhaps The Spectre is approaching the Defenders when they're having a particularly bad time. He may have a secret strategy of "don't cast out your demons, lest you cast out the best part of yourself."
