It looks like Barda has chosen the next member of her team! Regular visitors will remember that she recruited Red Sonja in STF #4881. She still has a couple more slots on the roster to fill, though - who will she select next? Future covers will tell, so stay tuned!

I'm on board for this. Who's next, I wonder?
ReplyDeleteMore to the question....who does the full team go after?? Mr Universe?? Ms Universe?? OK, Cranston...the microphone is all yours!!
ReplyDeleteIf not for Ross' title, I would've guessed that purple glove belonged to Mr. Universe! So, I'll have to go with my second guess; Devilance the Pursuer.
ReplyDeleteI considered converting that into a Mr. Universe fist, but decided against it. He will be back, though. You'll tell when he is featured because there is a pattern to the story titles on covers that feature Mr. Universe. I'm surprised nobody has mentioned noticing that yet.
ReplyDelete"Holy Alliteration, Batman! He's right!!"
DeleteWell, we've seen the Marvel choice. Now, let's see if the semi-canonical DC choice will be the first female Starfire. The one from that 8-issue comic that came out during DC's ill-fated Bicentennial-era expansion.
ReplyDeleteMr Universe is the converted version of...Stan Lee???
ReplyDeleteI believe the politically correct term is "cosmically enhanced" (as "converted" controversially implies a change in religion).
DeleteI really liked Patsey Walker a lot in the 70s and early 80s once she joined the Defenders, to the point of her eventually being my favorite member. But that all took a while. Greer Nelson/the Cat was a favorite kf mine when she debuted and I eventually had every one of her appearances (limited as they were; I even settled for her Spidey Stories team-ups) including when she became Tigra. So, at 1st Hellcat was a major thorn in my side as a "poor copy". So much so that I would color in HC's hair black and just read it as more of the Cat's appearances at first. Any chance of doing that with some Hellcat images and have another Cat team-up? Either way, another fun cover that I'd have been sure to snag off the shelves.
ReplyDeleteWhy not make Greer Grant a redheaded Patsy Walker? There's already a dangerous dearth of gingers in mass media, as it is.
ReplyDelete@Anon1045AM: "Darth Ginger" sounds more like a Star Wars villain.
DeleteHmmm, my nominees would come from Thudra, Valkyrie, and Medusa.
ReplyDeleteLol! I believe you meant "Thundra."
DeleteHow about an independently published redhead like Prudence (from Defiant Comics), Fatale (from Broadway Comics), or Babe (from Dark Horse Comics)?
