Robin and Captain America

It's never a bad time to feature the Robin of Earth 2 in his greatest costume.  Throw in a living legend and maniacal madman with robotic muscle and you have the ingredients for a fun Bronze Age tale!

  1. I agree: Robin's greatest costume! Great cover!

  2. Mad Thinker resembles Per Degaton.

    1. If, as a result of all his time travels, Kang the Conqueror can have an infinite number of counterparts (half of them using other aliases), why not Per Degaton?

    2. Besides, Degaton and the Golden Age Thinker (Clifton DeVoe) were fellow members of the original Injustice Society. So, who's to say Degaton wouldn't steal the latter's alias and just tack on the adjective "Mad" so as to keep from being sued for plagiarism.*

*DeVoe was initially a criminal lawyer, if I recall correctly. Talk about two different names for the same thing!

  3. i wouldn't mind the dark blue outside the cape...bullet proof as usual, but more helpful for shadows hiding. Dick has gone thru so much. Hope Steve treats him as a true equal.

  4. Personally, I like his costume with the red tunic and yellow tights; the red chest really calls out "robin" (lower-case R) to me. But all things considered, it's a matter of personal taste.

@Tobor: My recollection is that he originally wore the bright costume sort of as a way of double-daring the bad guys to shoot at him -- he was out there to serve as a distraction. I like to theorize that Dick (all versions) has a sort of "mutant power" that prevented any bullets or other projectiles from hitting him (though probably not without fault).

@Ross: What I just said to Tobor might even be a good excuse for the X-Men (or one of its offshoots) to try to recruit him.

    1. @Bob, that's the thing. I remember Dick as a distraction...., but he is not going to be a distraction NOW. And if he doesn't have a young partner, he has to do it all ...by himself.

    2. @Tobor: And that, in part, is why I speculated about him having this mutant power. Seriously, he probably could make mincemeat out of a platoon of post-clone Imperial Stormtroopers.

    3. That's basically Darth Yoshi's opinion (with his criminally under-rated "Batman: The Dark Side" fanfic series), too.
