The Atom and The Defenders
Can the world's greatest non-team subdue a dwarf star-infused hero out of control? And just what happened to Ray Palmer anyway? The answers are only sixty cents away!
My first wild guess? The Atom is being mind-controlled by not-so-white Starro matter (mixed with Pym-particles)!* But, even if I'm wrong, I'm still impressed by this morning's blend. For sixty cents, I'd gladly grab this off the shelf.
Has Ray Palmer ever gone large like this in the actual comics? If so, there may be a closer relationship between Ray's tech and Hank's than we realize -- something that might be worth exploring.
I was going to say, the Ray Palmer of the Arrowverse suddenly grew, but what I didn't know is either Berlenetti or some exec at the CW wanted an Iron Man clone and Brandon Routh got drafted. Hollywood thinks Iron Man is an A List character.
Yeah I've seen that one but the team had so many members. He could use Clea, Iceman, Moondragon, Angel, Cloud, Power Man, Hellcat, Red Guardian, etc. for a different take on another team-up between the two.

ReplyDelete*See STF #4209.
OK! I'm half-wrong. It was STF #4206.
DeleteHas he been merged somehow with Atom-Smasher?
ReplyDeleteOff subject, but with Dexter back maybe a cover of him on trial with Matt Murdock for the defense.
ReplyDeleteIs he being sued by his sister Didi for practicing mad science while still underage?
DeleteWrong Dexter! Emsley's referring to the made-for-streaming serial killer who preys on other serial killers.
DeleteAnother great cover and quite the unexpected team-up!!!

ReplyDeleteMaybe in Kandor.

DeleteRay shifted thru dimensions and hasnt shrunk back down yet. Shifting thru dimensions can be so much fun!!
ReplyDeleteThere's so much magic represented on this cover!!
ReplyDeleteYou should pick 5 non-team Defenders members & have them meet DC's non-team The Inferior 5 for a future cover LOL!
ReplyDeleteSee STF #1116 @ May 4 of ten years ago.

DeleteThen how about Power Man for Awkward Man; Moondragon for Dumb Bunny; Red Guardian for White Feather; Cloud for the Blimp; and Clea for the Jester?
Delete2 answer Bob G.'s question. He was larger than life on some JLA covers in 1983 against Bats, Arrow, Canary, Tornado & Hawkman.
ReplyDeleteCarycomic, That's more in line with what I had hoped for! Nice pairings there!!!

DeleteWith, maybe, Nexus vs. Judge Dredd as a preliminary bout?
