It was very cool to see behind the scenes footage of
Spider-Man: Brand New Day featuring practical web swinging by Tom Holland and his stunt men. It's cool to see that kind of filmmaking in this age of digital effects, and I can't wait to see how that scene looks in the finished film.
Oh, dear! Is this somebody's attempt to keep Miles Morales from joining the Teen Titans or Young Justice? I guess Ross will have to do a sequel to answer that question for us! ;-D
ReplyDeleteNow, for a more serious question (inspired by the latest trailers for AVATAR 3). Will we ever see blue Pandorians vs. xenomorphic Aliens?
Miles Has met the NTT on the blog before, at least. Hadn't thought of using Avatar. Despite the obvious grounbreaking special effects, the films' design and stories haven't interested me much.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pity. :-(
DeleteIs this the old 'Gun-hand gang' but with new weapons?
ReplyDeleteThat's the FGG, all right. The Foreground Gun Guys get around.
ReplyDeleteNow armed by Intergang?
DeleteAnother director said a while ago that practical-effects swinging sucks. Personally, I'm ambivalent on this one. Generally, I'm in favor of using practical effects when they're, well, practical, since even the best computer-graphic version will lack a that special level of authenticity. That said, in the comics Spidey tends to be a bit of a contortionist. And yet, to be fair, I don't think we've seen any of that with Tom Holland's iteration, so it might work out after all. The real evidence will be up there on the big screen.
ReplyDeletei'm more interested in how Ollie is interacting with Peter ....
ReplyDeletePerhaps they're searching for Pete's long-lost cousin Charlie. Someone having abducted him in his Golden Eagle guise after mistaking him for Hawkman!
DeleteTwo additional thoughts, related to each other:
ReplyDelete1. The Foreground Gun Gang needs its own tag.
2. We need a cover where "Mr. Universe Recruits the Foreground Gun Gang"!
Perhaps for an attempt on the life of the Main Man! Lobo being the one being Mr. Universe hasn't fought, yet.
DeleteBob, Maybe if I had though of it 15 years ago - but at this point I have no desire to go over 5300 covers to see where the FGG showed up and tag them! That would take a long time.
ReplyDeleteMaybe some nice, industrious individual could do that combing-through on your behalf....
DeleteSomeone with the same initials as Back Ground research, perhaps?
ReplyDeleteOr at least someone who knows how to create blue-highlighted links. ;-)
