Red Tornado and Aunt May

Poor May Parker is always being written as a frail aunt in distress, it's time she get the chance to be the hero of the story.  Who better to join her in such an adventure than Ma Hunkel?

  1. "Is the city ready for the most unlikely crime-fighting of all?"
The first word that springs to mind is...NO (lol)!
But, if Ralph Dibny and Marc Spector can do it, so can May Parker and Ma Hunkel.

  3. Dear Ross: how about a sequel to this where the Union Suit Squad takes on Red Lantern Hulk?

  4. Back in the 1980s, the infamous 'Assistant Editors' Month' included an issue of Marvel Team-Up in which Aunt May [non-canonically] became a herald of Galactus under the name of 'Golden Oldie'...

    1. I don't think that one was an Assistant Editor entry; it's the classic Volume 1 Issue 34 all-humor issue, which had other one-page and one-panel classics such as "What if Power Man was White?" and "What if Iron Man had an Eating Problem Instead of a Drinking Problem?"

    2. Course correction: What you're probably thinking of was that month's issue of Marvel Team-Up (#137). There was no "What If?" that month.

  5. Hey! That gives me an idea.

Galactus meets the Smurfs in..."What if...Smurfette had become the Herald of Galactus?"

    "ENTER THE SILVER SMURFER!"

  6. One version of Aunt May DID get cosmic powers from Galactus and became Golden Oldie.

  7. I see that people are forgetting that May Parker has her own super-hero identity: the Golden Oldie

  8. Aunt May? Helpless? The woman who calmly baked cookies for the Chameleon, laced with ambien and told him he'd eaten a fatal dose of arsenic as he disguised himself as Peter? Her body might not look formidable but the woman could out plan Batman.

  9. Then again, if you can remember the tv version of the Scarlet Cyclone (Roast of the Super Heroes), Ross, you could make an elderly team of heroes of your own. ???

    1. Do you remember the team 'Old Justice', who confronted Young Justice (comics, not TV cartoons) at one point? Merry 'Gimmick Girl' Pemberton, at least one of Ma Hunkel's 'Cyclone Kid' sidekicks, and several other former sidekicks of Golden Age characters...

    2. Yeah! Weren't they led by Doiby Dickles during that story arc where Klarion magically rejuvenated the Justice League?

  10. Didn't Aunt May become Captain Universe at some point?
