Mister Miracle and Devil Dinosaur
It's time for another all-Kirby classic. Scott Free has made a lot of great escapes in his day, but can even he break free from the bonds of time? It would be fun to see how he got in to this situation - and how he gets out!
The Pit Hag's magic probably sent all three of them to NYC. Along with the Killer Folk raiding party that stole Moon Boy's tribe's sacred Night Stone! Consequently, Moon Boy was still fatally wounded (either by the Killer Folk or a panicky rookie cop making like Quickdraw McGraw) necessitating a search by DD and MM for the Night Stone. Which they find in the custody of Lunella Lafayette (a young Haitian-American woman of partial Inhuman descent).
@ Ross: maybe after he had helped recover Granny Goodness' "pet" (@ STF #3552), she double-crossed Scott. By technically keeping her promise that her modifications to his Mother Box would return him to the past, alright. She just conveniently forgot to mention how far _back_ in the past!
Either way, another great tribute for the King of comic book illustrators. :-)
Speaking of magic: how about Lee Falk's Mandrake being the center of a romantic tug-of-war by the two Witchfires (Ananym and Rebecca Carstairs)? You know; as sort of a homage to that Silver Age TB&TB cover with Batgirl and Wonder Woman similarly tugging on Batman.
Carycomic, i had put in a response on Ragman before i put this one in. This is not the first time i have been erased. Beginning to feel perhaps not wanted here.
I know the feeling. It happens everytime I can't sign in conventionally and, so, have to make with my screen name on the tail end of these comments (to tell myself apart from all the other anonymii)!--Carycomic
As long as DD doesn't eat her MM should be fine.
ReplyDeleteWhatever happened to Moon Boy anyway?
ReplyDeleteHe got replaced by Moon Girl when DD was sucked into the present day world. Couldn't tell you why in or out of universe.

DeleteInhuman descent, huh? That could also make today's cover the concluding part of a trilogy that began with STF #4299 and STF #4464.
DeleteRoss could even turn it into a tetralogy by "including" STF #3552!

DeleteOr, for a more current frame of reference, a pastiche of STF #3562.
ReplyDeleteNow, it includes Monty Python TOO!! Join Scott Free today!!
ReplyDeleteWhy? Is he coming apart?
DeleteBa-DUM-boom!
"And, now, for something completely different." Like, say, a comment by Det. Tobor for today's "Morby vs. Ragman" cover?
