Wildfire and Nova

Sure, it was cool back in the day when Karate Kid was sent back from the 30th Century to our time for a series of adventures - but I wished that other members of the Legion of Super-Heroes had been able to do the same.  Wildfire would have been at the top of my list, I just thought that he was so cool.

  1. I certainly would've enjoyed Wildfire meeting up with Simon Williams.
An ionically-enhanced Wonder Man meeting a sentient suit of anti-energy? That would've been a powerful story, indeed. :-)

  2. Nova in the future, tense? Not an usual situation. Drake in current time? He has problems in the future...present day?...That would be like early Bruce Banner without Rick Jones to help. (not counting uniform repairs.)

  3. Did you catch the 4-issue COSMIC BOY mini done in 1986? He and Night Girl find themselves in a past that's unrecognizable to them, which just happens to be our current (messed-up) history as we know it...

  4. Cary, Wildfire and Wonder Man have met on the blog: https://braveandboldlost.blogspot.com/2024/03/wildfire-and-wonder-man.html

James, yes I picked that mini series up back in the day.

    1. Heh! I completely forgot about that one. The Timeskipper's destruction, as a result of their eventual escape, must've erased that whole story from my memory.

      ;-)

  5. I definitely agree that Wildfire was always one of the coolest Legionnaires, and it would've been great to see him have a solo adventure or two in the twentieth/early 21st century! And of course, you know I must... LONG LIVE THE LEGION!!!!!

  6. Wildfire was part of Legion Lost featuring a group of Legionnaires trapped in the present (21st Century).

  7. That's right, I only caught a few issues of that, but remember enjoying them.

  8. 2 of my favorite characters. I do wonder however if Nova (being a member of the Nova Corp) would be banned from Earth in the 30th Century. Reason being the Nova Corp was created to be a spce force like the Green Lantern Corp and in the time of the Legion the Green Lanterns are banned from Earth.

  9. I'd like to see Nova's buddy Powerhouse battle Duplicate Boy.

He also had a friend named Comet who could team up with Comet Queen (or even Comet The Super-Horse).

Nova could return & team up with the similar powered Sun Boy (flight & power blasts) or maybe battle him under Universo's control.

    1. Sun Boy might be able to generate solar-power blasts, naturally. But, his flying power is still non-existent without the LSH-issued flight ring.

  10. I'm one of the very, very few who thought Drake Burroughs was cooler as ERG-1. I can't hear the name Wildfire without remembering Michael Martin Murphy singing about a lost horse.

    1. Or the Golden Age superheroine that Danette "Firebrand II" Reilly was initially intended to be.

  11. Speaking of Firebrand II: has she ever teamed up with Frankie Raye (aka Nova II)?

  12. I wish the LOSH female characters would team up with Avengers females more often in 2025. I can't recall too many of those taken place on this blog. Maybe team them up with some Marvel mutant females if the creative juices flow in that direction.

Ex. = Wolvesbane & Dawnstar, Night Girl or Infectious Lass.

  15. Marvel Girl & Tellus (both telepaths & telekinetics).

  16. Phoenix & Dream Girl, Dawnstar or Infectious Lass.

  17. Storm & Light Lass/Lightning Lass, White Witch or Shadow Lass. Maybe a young Phantom Girl for a Kitty Pryde type mentoring team-up.

  18. Dazzler & Quislet would be a wild one for sure.

Dream Girl had an all white outfit like she had in her late 70s debut.

The White Witch might cast a spell that affects Dazzy's powers in some way.

Come to think of it, Tyroc's vocal powers & disco look would compliment Dazzy's mutant power & original look a great deal.

I'll have to see if Dazzler has ever met Jem & The Holograms in the label section.

  19. Polaris & Quislet. Could she use her power on the tiny ship?

  20. Magik & Silver Sword both carried swords as weapons.

  21. Mystique appearing as a Triplicate Girl duplicate right after Duo Damsel makes her return debut.

    Dream Girl vs Destiny 2.

Rogue facing Duo/Damsel, Shrinking Violet (in mini form) OR Light Lass who could keep her afloat & away from absorbing her powers would all make visually appealing. covers.

Spiral vs Spider-Girl or Triplicate Girl/Duo Damsel.

  22. ^ Whoops! That should read "Rogue facing Triplicate Girl/Duo Damsel" above. Sorry for any mix-up there.

  23. Or, failing all that, Porcupine Pete and Sonic the Hedgehog!
