It's time for another double-dose of Ditko. Who better to face The Scorpion in his STF debut than a similarly themed hero that was also designed by the legendary comics creator? It would have been cool to see him illustrate this entire issue!

DeleteThe Ted Kord Blue Beetle somewhat resembles a Marvel character who somehow wound up in the wrong universe (Charlton, then DC).
ReplyDeleteHis personality and fighting style, and his technical prowess and (original) wealth make me think of what would happen if Daredevil and Iron Man were "Amalgamated", while his "arthropod" motif, of course, reminds one of Spider-Man, whom Ditko co-created.
I am surprised this is first appearance of the Scorpion.

DeleteI thought Scorpion had appeared on an earlier cover. He should team up with the Barbra Minerva Cheetah version (who also had a preh. tail) & battle Bumblebee in her original outfit (which had a stinger on her backside) & Nightcrawler (who had a preh. tail). Team up title = "We're gonna knock you on your butts!"
