I remember seeing that cool giant fire monster during the opening credits sequence of Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends. Alas, he only appeared for a few moments in one episode, taken out easily by Firestar and guest star Sunfire - and he was certainly nowhere near as large as he was depicted during that credits cameo.
Static on heat? Too bad he can't create a vacuum or ice temps.Good luck group.
ReplyDeleteI'll bet it's just a pyrokinetic construct discourtesy of Hotstreak joining forces with St. John "Pyro" Allardyce while her more frequent accomplice, Ebon, rips off something major somewhere else.
ReplyDeleteOk, create a warp or an amber trap. The heroes are gonna have a little trouble with this one.Good luck, group.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great quartet -- Static would've fit right in as a guest on the show.
ReplyDeleteIt's not like he lasted long in the credits, either. One zap from Iceman and he was done.
ReplyDeleteJust a thought..... Apparently, there's a side character in Marvel known as "Night Nurse". She actually is a real MD, and she runs a little "clinic" tending to the medical needs of superheroes who do suffer from injuries (Spiderman, Daredevil). Are there enough other superhero characters (like Doctor Strange - MD, neurosurgery) with medical knowledge to fill one of those group team-ups?
ReplyDeleteThere's the three Dr. Midnite (Charles McNider, Beth Chapel, and/or Pieter Cross). Plus, Dr. Donald Blake (Thor's Silver Age identity) and Dr. Kent Nelson (M.D. and Ph. D., archaeology).
ReplyDeleteNight Nurse should tangle with Batfoe The Crime Doctor. Maybe Wendy Harris became a nurse or candy striper after her time in the SF comics.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of which, a better choice than Static for this cover would've been Zan with his water/ice powers & maybe sister Jayna in tow to battle this Fire Beast & Titano. Zan could've turned into a giant Ice-Gleek for the Fire-Beast & Jayna could've became a Titano duplicate for a chimp on chimp match up.
A Ms. Lion /Gleek team up would make a cute little cover sometime.
Failing all those, I'd settle for Spider-man and Mary Worth teaming up to locate a mysteriously missing Judge Parker!
