My only real nitpick with Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 3 was the portrayal of Adam Warlock. The man-child thing is a bit overdone in the movies, and he didn't really remind me of the character I read in the comics. Hopefully he will be depicted a bit more faithfully if he should appear un the future.
I think the only way that will happen, Ross, is if the High Evolutionary somehow escapes from Knowhere to take up where he left off. Thereby leading to the Marvel Films debut of the Man-Beast as Adam Warlock's arch-enemy.
ReplyDeleteThe introduction of Man-Beast into the MCU might also pave the way for the introduction of other lycanthropes like Jack Russell (aka Werewolf By Night).
ReplyDeleteBut Jack Russell already got his MCU debut. The Werewolf by Night special?
DeleteEven if there's no Guardians of the Galaxy, Volume 4, I think we can bank on the new roster of Guardians (and probably some of the old ones) appearing in Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. That would include Adam, and I'd expect that both he and Phyla will have grown a bit by then.
ReplyDeleteOne of my Favorite Legion issue - as far as I know, Jim Starlin's only work on Legion.
ReplyDeleteYour Warlock label has both Marvel Warlocks under it which is a bit confusing/misleading. Are you going to split them up like you do others? The New Mutants character can have the "Warlock" label & this one can be under "Adam Warlock" to avoid any confusion.
ReplyDeleteLobo & this Warlock would be an interesting future team up.
ReplyDeleteAgree on confusion of labels. Sometimes when in mood I like to look at history character in blog and I get distracted.
ReplyDeleteA Mike Grell Legion. They are back on Earth 2, just saw them there. Superboy and prophecy? not a usual match. different.
ReplyDeleteI love this one. This could very easy be a prelude to a 3 Parter. The next could feature what I consider the classic Adam Warlock (Stalin's run) followed by George Perez Versions (Legion of 3 Worlds and Infinity Gauntlet) and ending with the Legion and Infinity Watch against Mordred and Magus. Side note how about the Green Lantern Corp and Captain Britain Corp against the mechanical Fury?
ReplyDelete@Anon1016: not all of us get streaming TV. So a lot of us don't count that as official entry into the MCU unless it first appears on the silver screen.
ReplyDeleteThe mention of the X-Men's Warlock brings to mind his buddy Cipher. Would it be possible to team him up with fellow polyglot Indiana Jones? Or, perhaps, C3PO. (Or all three, together!)
