Deathlok and The Atom
With multiple attempts to re-start the Terminator franchise being less than successful, maybe it's time for Deathlok to hit the big screen. He's a time traveling heroic cyborg himself, so maybe he could scratch that cinematic itch for fans.
I feel your pain, Ross. I remember being distressed at hearing a rumor that Arnold Schwarzenegger wanted to do a bio-pic about Johann Sebastian Bach...with himself in the title role!
You know what comicdom really needs? A shrinking hero who's a surgeon.
On another track, just how many time-displaced heroes (living in the present) are there? Naming just those I can think of offhand, Marvel has Deathlok, Bishop, Cable, and Rachel Summers; DC has Booster Gold and at least a couple of Legionnaires (Karate Kid and Phantom Girl). Could they form a team? Or be shown as pawns in a war between Kang and the Time Trapper?
It also occurred to me recently that both Star Trek and Doctor Who have notable Time Wars. I think it'd be interesting to see them cross over, possibly with Kang and/or TT involved. (Are there comics images of the War Doctor to drop onto Discovery or the NX-01 Enterprise
P.S.---I just noticed. Three of Deathlok's 19 appearances here have been in early summer. Are they attempts to simulate summer blockbusters a la the now-classic Avengers/Defenders War? Or simply coincidence?
Poor Mr Palmer. All but forgotten since his ex-wife killed his co-worker's pregnant wife in a feeling of insecurity. Even Ant-man has been in a few movies since 2015. And him being a part time time traveler too.

ReplyDeleteHe kept telling his agent: "I'll be Bach."
Thank God for unfounded rumors.
given that the original Deathlok was from Detroit, argues with his computer half, and has memories of his wife... he also has Robocops franchise down.

They had two time-displaced heroes in a cover featuring Fighting American and Samurai Jack.

ReplyDeleteSimply coincidental
ReplyDelete@Bob If you mean Phantom Girl from the Terrifics, she's an ancestor of Tinya, not a time-stranded Tinya.
ReplyDelete@Ben: Thanks for the clarification. I didn't know that.

ReplyDeleteI think he's been living in seclusion in the penthouse of the Alpheus Hyatt Regency.
ReplyDelete@Carycomic: The Groan Arranger strikes again.
ReplyDelete@Anon124: then you're bound to love this one.
ReplyDeleteHow about Brainiac reprogramming Jocasta as "Sunset Bainiac"?
