Enchantress Vs. Deadman

This was a tricky cover to create.  There was a lot of image removal and repair required before I could swap out one hourglass for another.  Here is a look behind the scenes:

  1. Ross, you've got a real magpie mind to be able to spot two covers like this and then make that inspired STF connection.
For what it's worth, I actually think your cover works even better than the 2 originals.
Although one caveat - surely it shouldn't be Deadman in the hourglass but one of the various SANDmen...?

  2. @Davejonz, that would be too traditional. Boston not being able to phase out or thru something would be a scary thought for HIM!
Ms E. never looked deadlier than when scaring the dead!
It's those pieces you have to do repairs to that make it a full job. And loved the star 'wallpaper'.

  4. Although, I dare her to repeat her comment to the Challengers of the Unknown!

  5. Awesome. You not only needed to swap hourglasses you needed to rotate it to fit into the hands of the Enchantress. Thank you for behind the scenes view. I especially like them when I can see issues it was composed of and look at original covers and sometimes issues.

  6. Ah, yes! Amora of Asgard; possessed of an hourglass figure (and not a moment of it wasted).

But, I agree with everyone else. This was a truly masterful blending of the original images. And seeing all the rework you had to do on them is doubly jaw-dropping! I have only quesiton, though. Is that Natasha Romanoff and Carolyn Danvers in the top left original image?

  7. Wow! Only twenty-five past ten and today's entry has already surpassed what it took yesterday's entry all day long to gather!

  8. Holy cats! I can definitely see how much work had to be put into this one. And such a seamless result! Well done!

@Dave: Besides Tobor's point, I doubt that there's an image anywhere of any version of Sandman (even Flint Marko) stuck in an hourglass.

  9. @Tobor and @Bob, I wasn't being serious with the SAND suggestion. (It's just that sand is usually what you find in hourglasses and...oh well.)
I'm more than delighted to see Boston Brand in Amora's clutches. The end result is perfection.

    1. Peter Parker...#309 is a cover of Flint Marko in an hourglass by Chris Bachallo no less...

  10. So, let me guess... this has to be followed up by DC's Enchantress meeting Marvel's Deadgirl, right? Or maybe Deadpool?

  11. @Jack-el: Maybe Ross could use the Sensei's image for that one.

  12. @jack-el: Great find! Ross, I hope you can find a use for that. Maybe Wesley Dodds can come to his rescue. (Yes, I know they've shared a cover before; I'd just like to see it become a recurring, if not regular, thing.)
