Captain Marvel and Black Lightning in: "Escape From The Negative Zone!

For the conclusion to this three-part tale, we find that leaving The Negative Zone may not be quite as easy as getting there.  Let's hope that our heroes can avoid all the booby traps left by the defeated Annihilus!

  2. Hmmmm! BL is holding something in his left hand. Could it be the centerpiece of that little necklace Annihilus was clutching at, on yesterday's cover? A smaller and cheaper version of the cosmic control rod, perhaps?

Ross might very well have to give us a part 4 to answer those questions. ;-)

  3. @Carycomic: that won't be necessary. I think it's pretty obvious why Mar-Vell needs the cosmic control rod. To help the Gargoyle free the JLA from Lord Nightmare @ STF #4281!

Of course, some might point out that Batman and the bald BL are two of the captive Leaguers on that cover. How could they be there and on the cover of STF #4351 at the same time? Well, given his friendship with the FF, couldn't Mar-Vell have obtained Reed Richards' permission to use Dr. Doom's confiscated time platform to go back into the relatively recent past? When the Dark Knight was founder of the Outsiders and BL still wore an Afro wig?

Either that...or the Batman and BL on STF #4281 are Nightwing and the Martian Manhunter in disguise.

  4. @Anon851: I just double-checked. Batman's image doesn't appear anywhere on that cover! So, this trilogy might be occurring concurrently with that one-shot adventure. But, the rest of your guess might be right on target.

  5. Dynamic force in use on the cover. What will Marvel do with the part? An Anon seems to have a nightmare of an idea. Funny how the dream realm is getting more and more representation in this realm.

M+M melt in your mouth not in your hand. Cherry and blueberry wicked flavors. Annihilus encounters Ultron. Neither is human, will they clash or team? Against DC and Marvel characters. Beats Luthor and Brainiac.

  7. Fisher makes a valid point. It's canonically established that the xenophobic Annihilus considers all other sentient organic life forms as unwanted rivals. Would he make an exception for artificially intelligent ones? Or extend his genocidal paranoia to them?

  8. Annihilus might regard Ultron as a fitting ally of convenience if they ever took on the android Capt. Marvel originally published by MF ENTERPRISES during the 1960's. But, once they succeeded in vanquishing him, I'm sure the partnership would immediately "Split!" up.
