It's time for another all-Kirby classic. Jack Kirby was great at presenting big action, big personalities, big machines, big concepts and big stakes - so a mystery involving the king of an advanced society and an emissary of death from New Genesis would be right in his wheelhouse.
But just as important is the story..this thought balloon is perfect for a cover setup for this tale. Couldn't wait to read this issue.
ReplyDeleteLove to read this book, I'm truly intrigued by what Black Racer might want with T'challa.
ReplyDeleteIf this were a Marvel Film, I would make this a prequel to "...Wakanda Forever" with the premise being that the Black Racer wants Prince T'Challa to take his place. Of course, Marvel would be legally obliged to refer to BR as "Deathurge"!
ReplyDeleteHey-hey! I got half my wish granted. Thanks, Ross. :-)
ReplyDeleteAlthough, truth to tell, this version looks more like the Scarlet Skier. :-(
I agree with Tobor: the story setup here is brilliant. It's clear enough that Black Racer just wants to talk... but about what -- or whom?
ReplyDeleteMaybe the Racer is just riding T'Challa's slipstream, like a migrating goose or a bicycle racer.
ReplyDeleteI would think that the Cheetah (either Esteban Carracus or Barbara Ann Minerva) would have a more powerful slipstream.
