3-D Man and Triplicate Girl
One hero has the power of three men in one and the other can split herself into three. I think that these two would get along, despite being centuries apart.
The only thing missing was a third member to give it the right balance. Madrox, A mutant perhaps? Or Capt Marvel who could split in parts? Or 3 Superman Bizarros? Or 3 of Swamp Thing with one mind relocating as needed? 3 Spider-Men from the movie!!! Or just go with a pair of threes.
A pair of threes is fine for #4333, and this is a perfect pair. Maybe #5333 can be the Demons Three and Warriors Three (which I suggested a couple of days ago).
But before that, we'll have #4444. The Fantastic Four are an obvious call for that; perhaps three other groups of four could have to deal with one member of each being chosen as a Horseman of the Apocalypse -- or, perhaps more frighteningly, Horsemen of Apokolips.
PS: I'm pretty sure that's Lu as Duo Damsel, but that's not especially important. It's still a great cover.
I'd like to make a joke here using a certain obvious French term. But, I prefer to keep my comments PG-13 (if possible). So, I'll just ask the next obvious question. If Tri-Man learns anything about his near-future, or the near-future of any other 21st century superhero, will he have to sign non-disclosure agreements in triplicate?
Well, if "The Four Horsemen of Apokolips" isn't going to be #4444, maybe you could do it beforehand? Valkyrie, Phantom Rider, and Zorro seem like good candidates, to start with....
@Anon@10:10: Probably ideal for that one would be Hellboy and the Son of Satan, but we'll see what he cooks up. #PunNotIntendedButAppreciated
@Cary@1:34: On the cover, probably. As for the interior, I wouldn't be so sure (as long as they're fairly tame).
I feel silly remembering how I had a crush on Triplicate Girl/Duo Damsel as a kid in the early 80s reading LSH. Late '70s/early "80s Legion was phenomenal!! Keith Giffen, Paul Levitz, etc al were at the top of thier game with the Great Darkness Saga!
Gotta agree with Anon1135. That "Magic Wars" story arc where Light Lass broke up with Timber Wolf, then threw herself at Cosmic Boy's younger brother like a spinster on steroids, was just plain unworthy.
Doesn't DC's Ragman have the physical abilities of 3 men? A team-up with 3-D Man would make for an interesting pairing/battle. The JLA's great 70s foe the Starbreaker could become 3 different beings but he'd probably kill them both off in a heartbeat.

I did that in STF #3333, didn't want to repeat myself
ReplyDeleteSo these two are going to have their own version of a menage a trois?
ReplyDelete;-D

Nope, that's Triplicate Girl.
ReplyDeleteI have an idea for #4444 already... But that doesn't mean we won't see one of your suggestions.
@Bob: I dread to see what he has planned for the issue that comes after STF #4665.

ReplyDeleteCary - that’s dreadful…
ReplyDeleteas it’s Triplicate Girl she’s still “single “ as her third had been killed by the time she Married ,
just the word play…
You could always do the color separator's nightmare: Triplicate Girl teamed up with Superman Red and Superman Blue!
ReplyDeleteIf a Carggian married someone from planet Winath (Lightning Lad's home world where twin births are the dominant norm), could they expect sextuplets?
ReplyDelete@Simon: well, let's face it. Ross would probably have censored any "menage a trois" jokes. And rightly so!
ReplyDeleteGreat to see the return of 3-D Man. Maybe Multiple Man could make an appearance in a follow-up issue.

@Bob Greenwade: like I said; "...if possible." Couldn't guarantee it, though!
ReplyDelete@Anon118: why not? :-)

ReplyDeleteThe Sun Devils had 3 clone members= One, Two & Three which would make an interesting team-up cover with 3-D Man don'tcha guys think?
ReplyDeleteHow about the Road Rovers meet the Star Rovers?
ReplyDeleteP.S. @ Anon312: the University of Arizona is accepting clones, now?
ReplyDeleteNaw! Those are the Wildcats. The clones would've been Arizona State undergrads.
