Brainiac is heavily rumored to be appearing in
Superman: Legacy, although I haven't seen any actual confirmation about that yet. I would be surprised if he was not, though. My main question is what design of the villain will they go with, as he has had a few different looks over the years. Whatever they decide, I hope they at least use the cool skull ship from the cover above. It's one of the coolest villain lairs/vehicles ever designed, and I'd love to finally see it on the big screen.
Brainiac getting involved with higher science AND with magic would put him in Dr Doom's neighborhood. Brainiac wants all knowledge, so having him study magic energy would be a next step. He's met Doom, so how about Mephisto as a tutor for something in trade?
ReplyDeleteHas Brainiac's Skullship ever contended against Darth Vader's TIE fighter?
ReplyDeleteI already know that the two of them personally faced each other at STF #2778. But, that was five years ago!
ReplyDeleteOoooh! Ooooh! I know! You could have a follow-up, with Brainiac 5 interceding that he can save Wanda without Vision having to make a deal with the devil, a.k.a. Brainiac 5's ancestor!
ReplyDelete@Tobor and Aubry: I wouldn't be surprised if Wanda's "medically incurable" malady is the result of collusion between Mephisto and Brainiac!
ReplyDeleteI suspect that Viz is going to design a software virus specifically targeted at Brainiac's systems.
ReplyDeleteI like Tobor's thinking here. Even just a Doom/Brainiac rematch would be quite welcome, with magic involved on both sides. (An oblique reference to a certain rabbit would also be welcome.)
"Of course, you realize this will raise my hare out of joint."

You know, it just occurred to me. Skeletron--Quasar's foe from 1993--might have been loosely based on Ed Hannigan's artwork from ten years earlier!
ReplyDelete@Bob Greenwade: seeing as how they haven't met since STF #1051, your request is not unreasonable.
ReplyDeleteBack in 2018, you had Batgirl (Barbara Gordon) meet Black Panther (T'Challa).
ReplyDeleteWould you consider a new cover featuring Batgirl (Cassandra Cain) and Black Panther (Shuri)?
Or Princess Shuri meets She-Ra...or Wildcat meets Marga the Golden Age Panther Woman.
ReplyDelete"Shuri, Shuri, Shuri! Step right up and meet the long-lost sister of Prince Adam of Eternia. See the raven-haired jungle heroine in love with the high-flying namesake of a heavyweight boxing champion. All this and more available at your nearest news stand for only SIXTY CENTS!"
